PEORIA, Ill. — COVID-19 has now claimed the life of a Woodford County man in his 50s.
The Tuesday report from Peoria City/County Health Department said the man did not reside in a long-term care facility.
The man’s death brought Woodford’s total death toll from COVID to four, and the tri-county’s overall total to 49.
Compared with last week’s case numbers, the 58 new case count reported Tuesday was lower than the recent average.
Peoria County accounted for 33 of the new cases. Tazewell reported 22 and Woodford had three.
61 people were in area hospitals with the virus. Of those cases, 17 were intensive care-level.
The area’s recovery rate was down to an even 64%, while home isolation was almost at 33%.
