CHILLICOTHE, Ill. – Illinois Valley Central has announced its first confirmed case of COVID-19.
Principal Kenton Bergman e-mailed parents and students early on Monday afternoon to inform them of the situation.
In the e-mail, he indicated a “thorough electrostatic cleaning was completed over the weekend in classrooms at the high school,” and “daily deep cleaning and disinfection of the entire facility, including all common areas continues.”
Bergman said the school was working with the Peoria City/County Health Department on contact tracing.
He said any students who were known to have come in contact with the infected individual will have to stay home for 14 days.
IVC started in-person classes on Aug. 13.
