MORTON, Ill. — A week after reopening for in-person service, the Morton Public Library has to shut its doors once again, temporarily.
An employee received notification Tuesday they tested positive for COVID-19.
Library Director Alissa Williams said the infected employee and employees who had direct contact with them have been placed into quarantine.
Williams also said a deep cleaning was underway.
“To clarify, we are closed because the ripple effect of a positive staff member means we don’t have enough staff available to open the building,” she said.
All library services will be suspended with a scheduled date of Monday, Aug. 17 for the resuming of curbside pickup and drop off.
The building is then set to resume regular operations on Friday, Aug. 21.
The library closed March 16 and had reopened Wed., Aug. 5. It was subsequently open on Friday, Saturday, and Monday.
