CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Mid American Conference has become the first Football Bowl Subdivision to entirely cancel its fall football season.
The announcement followed a Saturday morning meeting among MAC presidents.
Northern Illinois University President Lisa Freeman reportedly told her colleagues Thursday the Huskies planned not to play this season.
MAC officials said they planned to attempt a spring schedule, according to sources.
Other Division I conferences like the Big Ten and Southeastern Conference have previously announced they plan to play conference-only schedules.
