PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria City/County Health Department reported 69 new COVID-19 cases between Wednesday and Thursday throughout Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties.
Six hospital beds were freed up, as there were 43 COVID patients in area medical facilities, down from 49 on Wednesday.
Of those, 11 were in intensive care units, while the other 32 were in hospitals but not in ICUs.
The Illinois Department of Public Health said the latest numbers continue to show the region above a 5% rolling positive test rate.
However, the IDPH also said there have only been two days of hospital admission increases in the latest rolling seven-day data. There had been three such increases as of Wednesday in that metric.
431 of Peoria’s 1,485 cases were in home isolation. 26 were hospitalized.
174 of Tazewell County’s 447 were in home isolation, while 11 were in area hospitals.
Woodford was up to 128 cases, up by five from Wednesday.
The area’s recovery rate was hovering right around 65%, its home isolation percentage stood just about 31%, and just under 2% of current cases were hospitalized.
