PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a fatal Monday afternoon accident in Bartonville.
The PCSO received a call at 1:17 regarding a one-vehicle crash in the 5000 block of Airport Rd.
Deputies found a vehicle off the road with three people inside.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said a woman in her late 40’s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two juvenile occupants were taken to OSF St. Francis Medical Center with serious injuries.
Authorities determined the vehicle was traveling southbound when it crossed the center line and off the roadway, south of the intersection with Dietrich Ln, traveling several hundred feet before stopping.
The vehicle encountered trees and mailboxes in its path.
The Peoria County Coroner’s Office was also conducting its own investigation.
