SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — A string of consecutive days in which the state’s COVID-19 test positivity rate inch upwards was snapped on Tuesday, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported.
The seven-day rolling rate remained at 3.8% after 1,076 Illinoisans between Monday and Tuesday received positive test results.
28,331 specimens were taken during that reporting period.
30 additional people died from the virus, bringing the state’s death toll to 7,446.
1,383 people throughout the state were in hospitals for COVID cases or suspected cases. 329 of those patients were in intensive care, and 128 were using ventilators.
