SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The state’s COVID-19 test positivity rate over the past week has continued to rise Monday as the Illinois Department of Public Health reported a 3.8% rate.
1,231 people between Sunday and Monday tested positive for the virus and 18 people died from it.
Among those who died was a Peoria County female in her 50s.
Laboratories across the state took in 30,567 specimens.
1,417 Illinoisans were hospitalized with the virus. 350 people were in intensive care units, while 124 patients needed to be on ventilators.
