SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — After a day that broke a streak of consecutive days with over 1,000 cases of COVID-19, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported Monday’s count was 1,173.
There were six COVID deaths between Sunday and Monday, including a Peoria woman in her 100s, bringing the state’s count to 7,301.
The statewide positivity rate over the last seven days remained an even 3%.
1,410 Illinoisans were in hospitals with the virus. 308 of them were in intensive care, and 133 were on ventilators.
