PEORIA, Ill. — After local leaders announced Thursday the Peoria region would not be relegated to phase three status of Restore Illinois, Friday’s COVID-19 data offered a mixed bag.
On the good side, the local recovery rate improved slightly, to 69.4%, up from Thursday’s 69%. The rate of current cases recovering in home isolation saw a tick downwards, to 25.2%, from 25.7%.
Two fewer patients were in intensive care Friday than on Thursday, a decrease from six to four.
Conversely, the hospitalization rate had a marginal increase, to 1.6%, from 1.4%. 22 non-ICU beds were being used for coronavirus patients, up from Thursday’s 21.
Tazewell County reported 157 of 208 coronavirus cases had recovered. 41 patients were in home isolation, while two were in area hospitals.
The area’s positivity rate roughly mirrored the state’s positivity rate of 3%. Peoria County testing sites had performed just over 25,000 COVID-19 swabs.
