PEORIA, Ill. — The tri-county’s recovery rate from COVID-19 has bounced back above 80% yet again.
The Peoria City/County Health Department on Thursday said 81% of cases since the pandemic began have recovered.
12.4% were in home isolation, while 1.2% were hospitalized.
One area intensive care unit bed was being occupied for a confirmed case, while 11 cases, either possible or confirmed, were in non-ICU beds.
The area’s total case count since the start of testing rose to 677.
Peoria County’s total stood at 503. 412 of those have fully recovered, while 58 were in home isolation, five were hospitalized, and 28 died from the virus.
Tazewell’s case count rose to 139, with 105 having recovered, 23 in home isolation, and three in area hospitals, to go along with eight COVID deaths.
Woodford was reporting one new case, for a total of 35 since the pandemic started. Two of those cases have died.
The health department said hours of local testing sites have changed.
The East Bluff testing site has moved to by-appointment-only status, Monday through Friday.
The Pekin location at Tazwood followed suit, though it is only open by appointment on Wednesdays.
Peoria City/County Health Department announced the site at the health department will offer curbside testing on Saturdays only.
Meanwhile, the Peoria Civic Center’s community-based site remained unchanged.
