MORTON, Ill. — Morton students will be in the classroom full-time in the fall.
Morton Schools Superintendent Jeff Hill said Monday in a press release that the District 709’s School Board has approved plans for in-person classes five days a week.
“With the guidelines being what they are, it will still be challenging from a couple different aspects. But, that is our plan,” Hill said.
Student safety will be a priority, even if it’s difficult, according to Hill.
“I think just for kids in face coverings all day, that can be a challenge,” Hill said.
Parents are being given an opportunity to give input decisions for the fall. Hill said surveys should be completed no later than July 6.
The district’s plans are expected to be finalized following the school board’s meeting on July 21.
