SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Illinois will see its second minimum wage increase of the year on July 1.
The state minimum goes up to $10 an hour on Wednesday.
The Illinois Department of Labor suggests minimum wage earners make sure their checks reflect the change after July 1.
Legislation signed by Gov. J-B Pritzker and passed by Illinois’ General Assembly will lead to a minimum wage of $15 an hour by 2025.
Cook County’s minimum wage goes up to $13 an hour on July 1. Chicago’s minimum wage will be between $13.50 and $14 an hour depending on the size of the company.
Illinois’ minimum wage will increase $1 on January 1 each year until it reaches $15 an hour in 2025.
