PEORIA, Ill. — Two long-term care facility residents died from COVID-19 between Thursday and Friday, while ICU beds in use for the virus increased during the same time frame.
The residents who succumbed to the virus were a female in her 80s and one in her 90s, both of whom stayed at University Rehab.
The deaths brought the area’s death toll from coronavirus to 32.
ICU bed usage increased to five — four for confirmed cases and one for a suspected case.
Peoria County was reporting a total of 418 cases, while Tazewell reported 109.
Woodford remained steady at 32.
The area’s recovery rate decreased slightly, to 72.8%.
18.6% of cases were in home isolation, while 2.9% were hospitalized.
