PEORIA, Ill. — Flooding for Peoria at the Illinois River may be over for the year.
The Army Corps of Engineers said Monday water levels at noon were just over 15 feet.
Projections showed the river would reach 13 feet by the end of the week. 13 feet is average level for the River Station shoreline.
Businesses at River Station have all opened back up. Peoria Riverfront Market was scheduled to return Saturday to its normal location.
Liberty St. is set to remain closed behind River Station until further notice, though Peoria Public Works crews have cleaned and decontaminated the areas polluted by river waters.
