PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria emergency crews were called to the 400 block of W. Glen around 6:30 a.m. Sunday on reports of a residential fire.
Firefighters found two people trapped inside the home. They were rescued from a second story window with a ladder.
Fire Battalion Chief Nate Rice said the main body of the fire was located at the top of the basement stairs. The fire was knocked down within 30 minutes.
Another fire was discovered under the basement stairs and was put out.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Damage was estimated at $100,000.
