PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police are investigating a shooting that occurred just after 3 a.m. Monday in the 200 block of Hamilton Street, near the Caterpillar Building and Kelly Seed.
Peoria Public Information Officer Amy Dotson said a large group had gathered at the scene.
“Officers in the area reported hearing shots fired,” Dotson said.
Police located two victims with gunshot wounds.
“One victim suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and the other to the torso. The victims were uncooperative on the scene and refused to wait for medics,” said Dotson.
Two people arrived a short time later to a hospital by private vehicle with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are reviewing security camera footage from the area to help with their investigation.
Dotson said there are no suspects at this time.
