PEORIA, Ill. — Another Peoria County long-term care facility resident has died from COVID-19.
The Peoria City/County Health Department’s Sunday report indicated coronavirus claimed the life of a female in her 80s.
The county’s total positive case count since the pandemic began has risen to 388. Tazewell was reporting 91, while Woodford stayed at 25, giving the tri-county region a total of 504, including 28 deaths.
Peoria County residents have accounted for 20 of those deaths. 19 of the 20 have been long-term care facility residents.
11 area intensive care unit beds were in use for COVID-19 purposes. Four of those beds were for possible cases, while seven were for confirmed cases.
65.7% of cases have recovered, 24.8% were in home isolation, and 4% were hospitalized.
