PEORIA, Ill. — Despite state orders from Springfield, some local restaurants have reopened with indoor service.
On Monday, Peoria’s Pizza Ranch, located at 4114 N. Brandywine Drive, announced on its Facebook page that it was reopening for indoor service with the buffet, even though Restore Illinois’ phase 3 plans allow for only outdoor service.
Jubilee Cafe, located at 7203 N Kickapoo-Edwards Road, in Edwards, reopened its doors for indoor table service on May 29, the same day Illinois’ phase 3 began.
Jubilee Cafe’s owner received a cease-and-desist letter from the Peoria County Health Department shortly after the cafe reopened.
Both restaurants face potential fines and the loss of their food service licenses if they continue to defy state guidelines under the Restore Illinois plan.
