CHICAGO, Ill. — The number of reported cases of COVID-19 Monday dropped by over 200.
The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 658 new cases of COVID-19, with 23 deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
Since the pandemic began, Illinois has reported a total of 128,415 with 5,924 deaths related to the virus.
The seven day statewide positivity rate decreased to 5%.
In the past 24 hours, over 16,000 specimens were collected for testing labs.
Labs have collected 1,058,873 total specimens.
