PEORIA, Ill. — A man has admitted responsibility for the shooting death last Wednesday of 8-year-old Jordin Wilson.
35-year-old Robert L. Harris turned himself into police Wednesday around 11:30 A.M., was then interviewed, and arrested on a bevy of charges.
“Unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, obstructing justice, two counts of endangering the life or health of a child, as well as reckless conduct,” said Peoria Police Department Public Information Officer Amy Dotson.
She said Harris remained in Peoria County Jail.
Wilson died as a result of an accidental discharge of a weapon, after he and another child were said to have been playing with it.
Peoria Police responded to a residence in the 2300 block of N. Maryland after 4 p.m. that day, on an initial report of a child shot in the chest by a BB gun.
