PEORIA, Ill. — A man is in the hospital after falling 125 feet from a water tower in Brimfield.
The man is a 19-year-old male who worked for the painting company, Maguire Iron Inc. — Water Tower Experts, according to Peoria County Sheriff Brian Asbell.
“Fortunately he still was breathing at the time we responded and he was subsequently transported to OSF Saint Francis where he remains in critical condition,” Asbell said.
Officials are putting together the pieces of what happened.
“Safety equipment was present, but we don’t know if it was not being used as intended or malfunctioned,” Asbell said.
The identify of the 19-year-old has not been released.
