PEORIA,Ill. — Strong storms that moved through Central Illinois Monday night brought high winds and up to three inches of rain, causing some moderate flooding.
Emergency management officials reported flash flooding west of Roanoke on Highway 116.
Brimfield-Jubilee Road was temporarily closed due to a downed power line.
Reports of downed power lines and trees in the roadway were reported in Peoria, Washington and East Peoria.
Ameren Illinois reported power outages overnight with some residents still in the dark Tuesday morning.
East Peoria Police closed several roads due to flooding. W Camp Street from Riverside Drive to Spinder Drive were blocked off due to water on the road. Conference Center Drive was also closed from Tractor Drive to River Road.
The National Weather Service in Lincoln issued a Flood Warning for NW Woodford, N. Central Tazewell and Central Peoria Counties that remains in effect until 12:15 p.m. Tuesday.
