PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria City/County Health Department is reporting an additional death related to COVID-19.
The recent death was a woman in her 70’s who had multiple co-morbidities. She was a resident of a long- term care facility.
The Tri-County region has a total of 13 deaths related to the virus. There have been 8 deaths in Peoria, 3 in Tazewell, and 2 in Woodford.
Peoria and Tazewell counties each reported one new confirmed case, bringing Peoria County to 177, Tazewell to 67, and Woodford remains at 18.
The total number of confirmed cases is 262.
Total ICU beds in use for COVID-19 patients decreased Friday to Saturday from seven to six. Confirmed cases in ICU is five, and persons under investigation is one.
The total number of non-ICU beds in use for confirmed COVID-19 patients or persons under investigation is 12.
Almost 84% of confirmed cases have recovered, around 11% are home isolating, and the percentage of those hospitalized has been cut in half to around 2%.
