PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria-Tazewell-Woodford tri-county region’s COVID-19 case total has risen to 217.
145 have been recorded in Peoria, 57 in Tazewell, and 15 in Woodford.
There were no deaths reported at Tuesday’s Peoria City/County Health Department briefing.
69% of tri-county cases were considered to be recovered, 22% were in isolation, and 5% were hospitalized.
15 ICU beds were in use in the region, with six for cases under investigation and nine for confirmed cases.
Heartland Health Services is scheduled to add a fourth testing site Wednesday at Tazewood in Pekin.
That isn’t the only new testing site set to pop up in the tri-county.
According to Andrew Rand, Peoria County Board Chairman, a testing site will be set up as of Friday in the Peoria Civic Center parking lot.
“The plans are to test first responders and those who are symptomatic,” he said.
Rand said he thought the capacity of tests per day will be 250.
