PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria residents can now resume setting bulky items out at the curb on trash day.
Peoria Disposal Company, PDC, has announced that mattresses, old furniture and other bulk items too big to fit in a trash cart can now be set out along side the carts on Peoria residents’ regularly scheduled trash collection days.
PDC had paused the collection of bulk items at the curb for several weeks as a precautionary measure to protect the company’s workers.
Bulky items can be put out as early as 3 p.m. the day before trash collection or by 6 p.m. on collection day.
Smaller bulky waste items should be discarded inside a closed trash cart.
PDC adds, bulky waste that is not small enough to fit inside a closed trash cart should be placed inside a trash bag and tied shut. Bagged items should be placed at least three feet away from trash carts and any other objects like cars and mailboxes.
Any bulky items that do not fit inside a trash cart or sealed trash bag should be neatly stacked.
