PEORIA, Ill. — One of Peoria’s favorite farmer’s markets returns next Saturday morning along the riverfront.
With safety guidelines in place, Peoria Riverfront Market is set to open on Saturday, May 16.
The market’s executive director, Sharon Gramm, told WMBD’s Greg and Dan, the first weekend will feature a grocery-style marketplace with 15 vendors selling perishable fruits and vegetables only.
“The next phase, which we hope to move to rather quickly, would be adding meat, eggs, cheese and honey. Those types of agricultural products.”
Gramm said phase three will add baked goods and added value items. Phase four, once approved, would add on ready-to-eat foods and arts and crafts.
Saturday market hours will be 8 a.m.-noon. There will be one entrance to the market in the 200 block of Water Street to help limit the number of people coming in a one time.
