PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria-Tazewell-Woodford tri-county area has reached 149 cases of COVID-19.
Peoria County went up six, from Thursday’s 89 to 95, while Tazewell remained at 41 and Woodford remained at 13.
Dr. Gregg Stoner said all patients who test at the drive-thru testing sites will be contacted, whether their results come back positive or negative, but it will take longer than hoped, for the time being.
“We had hoped to do this within 48 hours, but there are some lab delays, considering the huge volume seeing, because they’re doing things not just from [the tri-county region], but also from other areas of the state,” he said.
“So it can take three to four days to get the results, so we ask people be patient, but we do notify everyone as soon as we get the results.”
As of 3 P.M. Friday, 35 tests had been collected at the John Gwynn Park testing site, while 105 were taken from the East Bluff site.
