PEORIA, Ill. — With Gov. Pritzker’s new stay-at-home order restrictions, that begin on May 1, Peoria Park District golf courses will be able to re-open with some restrictions.
The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) set the limits that the park district has to follow when courses do open.
According to the park district; golf must be played in twosomes, tee times must be separated by 15 minutes, and golf cart usage will be limited to those with limitations that would make it difficult for them to walk the course.
In addition, all golf reservations must be made in advance with the Peoria Park District. Members are allowed to reserve times online, and daily fee players will need to call between 8 am and 4 pm daily.
“We are pleased to be able to open our courses again for play,” said Peoria Park District Executive Director Emily Cahill. “Our staff has been working hard while the courses have been closed, and we are ready to see them full of golfers again.”
The park district said that members will be contacted this week regarding an offered discount, and new memberships throughout the year will have the same discount applied.
