PEORIA, Ill. — As of 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Heartland Health Services in East Bluff, all COVID-19 tests available were used, according to Peoria County Board Chairman Andrew Rand.
Rand said that 150 tests were provided at the testing site, and all 150 tests were used.
Rand added that both of the other locations set to open for COVID-19 testing in Peoria will also be provided 150 tests per day.
There are now 84 total cases in Tri-County area after three new cases were announced Wednesday by the Peoria City/County Health Department.
Two new cases were announced in Peoria County, and one new case was announced in Tazewell County.
There are now 46 cases in Peoria County, 27 in Tazewell County, and 11 cases in Woodford County.
No new deaths were reported Wednesday keeping the total in the area at six.
Public Health Administrator Monica Hendrickson clarified some of the testing procedures at the new testing sites.
Hendrickson said that all individuals with symptoms over the age of 18 will be allowed to be tested.
Previously, individuals were split into four groups depending on their situation. Hendrickson says now the only thing being considered is whether or not someone has symptoms.
The individual must also be able to self-administer the nasal test without any assistance, according to Hendrickson.
“This does not mean we are asking [people] to actually do the test on themselves,” said Hendrickson. “But they do not need any assistance in terms of doing documentation as well as having a nurse do that procedure on them.”
