PEORIA, Ill. — The tri-county’s positive COVID-19 case count rose Sunday to 76.
The Peoria City/County Health Department said there were 41 cases in Peoria County, 11 in Woodford, and 24 in Tazewell.
Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis said he was encouraged by the relatively low numbers, but the next week or two will be the most critical in the fight.
“Don’t let these focused efforts over the last month go to waste by discontinuing safe procedures now,” he said.
“Please don’t be complacent now. Focus on getting to the other side of the situation and do what every one of us has to do to get there safely.”
Eight confirmed cases were in area ICUS.
13 possible cases were in ICUs, and 30 confirmed cases were non-ICU.
No new deaths were reported.
