CHICAGO — Gov. J.B. Pritzker said Sunday another airlift of personal protective equipment is scheduled to land Monday in Illinois from China, as the state continues its battle against coronavirus.
“These millions of masks and gloves will be taken to our state warehouse before we ship them out to keep our healthcare professionals and first responders,” he said.
Pritzker was effusive in his praise for the Illinois National Guard, who he said would be handling the distribution of the PPE.
Illinois Department of Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike said there were 1,197 new cases and 33 new deaths.
The state’s total reached 30,357 cases and 1,290 deaths.
