WASHINGTON D.C. — President Donald Trump said Tuesday the Trump Administration has been instructed to halt funding with the World Health Organization.
Trump said WHO was opposed to suspend travel from China.
“One of the most dangerous and costly decisions from the WHO was its disastrous decision to oppose travel restrictions from China and other nations,” Trump said.
Pandemics depend on human to human transmission, Trump said during the Task Force briefing.
“Boarder control is fundamental to virus control,” Trump said.
According to the president, the generosity of the United States is in question.
“The outbreak could have been contained at its source, with very little death,” Trump said.
Trump said the WHO depending on China to be transparent about the coronavirus impacted the amount of cases.
To achieve public health, different methods of dealing with other countries will be looked into.
“We will redirect global health,” Trump said.
Trump said the scariest day of his life was when he learned that the US was short hundreds of thousands of ventilators.
Trump said plans to reopen the country are close to being finalized.
The president plans to instruct each governor with a plan to reopening their state’s, because states are in very different conditions.
Those plans could be implemented before the first of May.
