PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria-Tazewell-Woodford tri-county area had, as of Wednesday, gone up to 39 cases.
Peoria and Tazewell were at 16. Woodford remained at seven.
The Tazewell totals included two deaths, including one that occurred since Tuesday. That death was recorded at Generations at Riverview, the same long-term care facility that housed the first Tazewell patient who died.
Despite that, the deceased was not the significant other of the first patient who died. Public health officials are still doing contact tracing at Generations at Riverview to pinpoint everyone that the confirmed cases have come in contact with.
Peoria County remained at one death.
22 ICU beds were being used for patients with COVID-19 or were under investigation for it.
31 non-ICU beds were in use for COVID or were under investigation for it.
Of the 16 confirmed cases in Peoria County, eight are considered recovered according to Public Health Administrator Monica Hendrickson.
“If you go a period of seven days from your onset of symptoms as well as three [days] or 72 hours without a fever and improved symptoms you can be considered recovered,” said Hendrickson.
