SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health reported the state of Illinois as of Saturday has 10,357 positive COVID-19 cases.
That count included 243 deaths across 68 counties.
The age range of cases goes from younger than one-year-old to older than 100.
“Please continue to stay home. We all must be willing to do this,” said Dr. Ngozi Ezike, IDPH Director.
“The gesture of someone else, that’s not what we want at this time.”
Linda Chapa LaVia, Director of Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs, said long-term care facilities have restricted visitor access, but the IDVA has not stopped its regular services.
“Our department remains dedicated to serving the needs of veterans and their families,” she said.
She encouraged veterans to visit veterans.illinois.gov for any needs they have.
