PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria City/County Health Department announced two new COVID-19 cases Thursday at the daily news conference. The two new cases are in Peoria and Tazewell counties.
This brings the local total in the Tri-County area to . There are six cases in Peoria County, three cases in Woodford County and two cases in Tazewell County.
To begin the news conference, Peoria County Board Chairman Andrew Rand stressed the importance of following the stay-at-home order enacted by Gov. Pritzker.
“In most cases it’s a seemingly simple thing to follow but for a couple, maybe, knuckleheads in the community,” said Rand.
Gov. Pritzker announced his displeasure with many Illinoisans not following the order Thursday at his daily address.
Peoria City/County Health Department Public Health Administrator Monica Hendrickson says that it’s safe to say that each confirmed case has had contact with two other people who could also be infected.
