At his daily address, Gov. Pritzker announced his displeasure with Illinoisans not following the stay-at-home order.
Pritzker said that he saw many people outside in shorts due to the warmer temperatures rising on Wednesday. He then reminded everyone to stay six-feet apart and not gather in groups larger than ten, no matter the circumstances.
Pritzker also announced a new statewide fundraising effort to support nonprofit organizations serving those whose lives have been upended by the pandemic. Pritzker announced the launch of Illinois COVID-19 Response Fund (ICRF) along with the United Way of Illinois and the Alliance of Illinois Community Foundations.
“This is a fund to support all of Illinois,” said Pritzker. “No one is immune to the virus — and nobody should be left to recover without help. We will get through this if we work together and stand up for one another.”
ICRF will work with other local organizations to provide Illinois residents’ most basic needs such as emergency food and housing, primary health care services, and utility and financial assistance.
