PEKIN, Ill. — As a result of Governor J.B. Pritzker announcing shelter-in-place taking effect Saturday, the Pekin Liquor Commissioner has authorized alcohol delivery and curbside pickup.
All retail licensees in the City of Pekin, including Class A on premise only licenses, now have the authorization to conduct “to go sales,” curbside deliveries, home residential deliveries, and other sales and deliveries that promote social distancing.
All deliveries must be made in their original container, and licensees are not authorized to sell or deliver pre-mixed cocktails intended for on-site consumption.
Deliverers do reserve the right to check the buyer’s identification upon arrival. If the buyer is found not to be over 21, the alcohol will be returned to the store with full refund.
In addition, all liquor licenses that were set to expire on April 30, 2020 are now extended to July 31, 2020 due to hardships caused by COVID-19.
