PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria police confirm officers were called Wednesday morning to the Lexington Hill Apartments, in the 4300 block of W. Oakcrest Drive, for a welfare check.
Peoria Public Information Officer Amy Dotson said police found six young children, all under the age of six, left without adult supervision.
“Two individuals have been arrested as a result. And, the children were placed elsewhere for their safety,” Dotson said.
Two women, Ladeesea Chism, 26, and Jennosha Adams, 25, were arrested on child endangerment charges Wednesday in connection with the incident.
Chism faces five counts of endangering the life or health of a child, one count of obstructing justice, and one charge of failure to appear with fee. Adams faces three counts of endangering the life or health of a child.
