PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police confirm reports of a loud explosion shortly after 7 a.m. Thursday that was heard from Creve Coeur to Chillicothe.
Police said workers at Behr Scrap Metal and Recycling, located at 3213 SW Washington Street in Peoria, were crushing a vehicle when something inside it exploded.
No injuries were reported.
