PEKIN, Ill. — A woman died Sunday after being found unresponsive in her jail cell at the Tazewell County Jail, according to authorities.
Sarah Seybold, 41, was found unresponsive at about 8:15 p.m. Sunday, according to a release by the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office Monday morning.
Seybold was transported to UnityPoint Health-Pekin by ambulance, where just before 9:00 p.m. she was pronounced dead.
Seybold had been arrested Sunday morning by the East Peoria Police Department on charges of possession of a controlled substance.
The Tazewell County Coroner and Illinois State Police are conducting an investigation.
