EUREKA, Ill. – Six months after a mobile home fire killed five people near Goodfield, a 9-year-old is being charged with murder.
The Peoria Journal Start reports that along with the five counts of first degree murder, the child is also charged with two counts of arson and one count of aggravated arson.
Due to the age, the identity of the child is not being released, according to Woodford County State’s Attorney Greg Minger.
On April 6, just after 11:00 p.m., firefighters arrived to a residence at the Timberland Mobile Home Park, finding the residence fully engulfed in flames.
Two adults and three children were killed in the fire.
