…FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY EVENING THROUGH LATE
SUNDAY NIGHT…
The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for all counties along and west of the
Illinois River.
* From Saturday evening through Sunday night
* Widespread rain with a few embedded thunderstorms will occur
across the Illinois River Valley this weekend…with the
heaviest rain falling Saturday night through Sunday. Storm total
rain amounts of 2.50 to 3 inches are anticipated.
* Excessive rainfall rates could lead to flash flooding of many
low-lying and flood prone areas. In addition, smaller creeks
and streams could potentially spill out of their banks.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
